Very recently, I had the pleasure of heading to Sedona and staying at the Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa. Now being a traveler, I’ve been to a lot of hotels, but never one like the Rouge. It’s design, rooms, food, spa, and even beds, are fascinating and unique.
The room I stayed in was absolutely wonderful. It consisted of two queen-sized beds, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, a desk, chairs, a mini fridge, a sleek television on the wall, and a little balcony. My brother and I took a quick liking to the television, which offered an enormous selection of movies to order, some still in theaters. And I enjoyed looking out over the balcony, at the beautiful red rocks of Sedona. Everything about the room was relaxing.
Furthermore, I couldn’t keep away from the room service menus. Oh the food! There was no resisting a late night crème brulee, or an order of chicken tenders, or hummus, or cheesecake. Each morning and each night, I had the opportunity to eat at REDS, the Rouge’s magnificent restaurant. (REDS was acclaimed Sedona’s Best Restaurant and Lounge!) In the mornings I ordered a mouthwatering plate of eggs, toast, hashbrowns and bacon. And for lunch, I ordered my favorite, the mac and cheese skillet. Noodles are amazing, but topped with chunks of ham - that’s the best. I also tried the juicy, tender rib-eye steak with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Needless to say, I didn’t want to leave the dinner table.
But when I did manage to stop eating, I found an inviting pool and Jacuzzi. I spent time mostly in the warm jacuzzi, sitting back and bonding with the family. It was very peaceful. Also while outside, I came upon the Rouge’s luxurious spa, which is set apart from the hotel to provide tranquility and enable meditiation. The spa radiates with relaxing treatments. The massage therapists are trained in Ayurvedic Services, Thai Massage, Cranial Sacral Reflexology, Breath Therapy, Chakra Yoga, Cupping Massage and Conscious Nutrition. It is a perfect refuge.
Speaking of refuges, I simply can’t forget the marshmallow beds. When I walk into hotel rooms, the first thing I do is plop down onto a bed. Well, when I plopped into the bed in the Rouge, I sunk down into it’s marshmallow goodness and was in paradise. Not only are all the beds lined with Simmons Super plush Pillow Top mattresses, but also they have down comforters, and plump feathery pillows that make your heart accelerate.
So if you’re looking for an enchanting hotel with incredible rooms, delicious meals, a superb spa, and dreamy beds, look no further. The Rouge has it all.
