LOWELL OBSERVATORY

Located just one mile west of historic downtown Flagstaff, Arizona, Lowell's scenic Mars Hill campus is the site of our 6500-square foot Steele Visitor Center. We offer daytime guided tours at 15 minutes past the hour from 9:15 AM through 4:15 PM, and tours, exhibits and telescope viewing in the evenings.

Meteor Crater is located on I-40, 35 miles east of Flagstaff. Experience the Best Preserved Meteorite Impact Site on Earth! Formed 50,000 yrs. ago by a giant meteor weighing several hundred thousand tons (550 ft. deep, 2.4 mi. circumference & 1 mi. across).
