Explore Meteor Crater

DAY 1: 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM

Your experience at Meteor Crater starts with a ten minute movie shown in the big screen movie theatre. Then, view the Crater itself from 3 lookout points on the rim. Please leave enough time to take a guided tour on the rim, weather permitting. The friendly, knowledgeable rim tour guides will share the history of Meteor Crater and many behind the scenes stories on events and experiences that have happened over the years. Then head back in and spend some time in the Interactive Discovery Center, which is one of the most extensive and informative museums of its type in the world! Before you depart for the hotel, be sure to visit the gift shop – you’ll be amazed at what you can find!

Explore Lowell Observatory

DAY 2: 10:30 AM - NOON

Near downtown Flagstaff, Lowell Observatory welcomes visitors of all ages to explore the modern visitor center, hands-on exhibits, and scenic campus. Tours and programs are offered throughout the year. The planet Pluto was discovered at Lowell Observatory in 1930. Lowell’s century-old Clark telescope is housed in a historic wooden dome, where night-sky viewing is offered much of the year.

Flagstaff is a great place to enjoy the unique beauty of Northern Arizona with its clear air, whispering pines, and sunshine all year round. Flagstaff is an old railroad town with Route 66 cutting right through it. It makes a great jumping off point for the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and the area’s other many sightseeing destinations.
