arizona key magazine - publisher pageA Note from the Publisher... KEY 360 - Rich Media Experience I am proud to say that the May 2007 issue marks the second anniversary of publishing Arizona Key Magazine for Sue, Brian, Pat and myself. That was a quick two years. We are marking this special occasion with a new online offering – the KEY 360 Rich Media Experience. Rich Media is an all encompassing term that includes slide shows, virtual tours, high-definition videos, audio clips, mapping and more optimized for your computer and for a variety of mobile devices such as smart phones, PDAs and portable gaming systems such as the Sony PSP.
Our rich media panel provides the opportunity for our advertisers to offer an immersive, interactive experience with regards to their products and services. It is used by a number of audiences. Local residents can check out places they have yet to visit or send links to friends and family. Visitors can plan their itinerary in advance of arrival by virtually experiencing various things to do, and concierge and other travel professionals can familiarize themselves with Arizona establishments. Many concierge simply bring up the panel and turn their computer monitor so the guest can see. Needless to say, I am very excited about this collection of technology that we now offer to our valued advertisers. The first group we approached simply said “yes, let’s go”. They like the fact that it’s Arizona Key Magazine that does the work – takes the pictures, shoots the video, creates the virtual tours, records the audio, and makes it all work on the Internet. Although most of our customers already have websites, many do not have this level of immersive, interactive, rich media. I would like to thank the advertisers below who were so gracious in being the first to adopt KEY 360. In the months that follow, I am confident many more will join in. Participating advertisers are flagged with a KEY 360 icon next to their listing in the magazine. This alerts readers to participating advertisers and lets the printed magazine drive traffic to our website. To view the rich media panel, simply visit www.ArizonaKey.com and click on the Rich Media Spotlight link. In addition to creating these panels for our valued advertisers, we will start building KEY 360 experiences for places such as the Grand Canyon, Sedona, the Painted Desert and other Arizona icons. If you have yet to visit the Grand Canyon state, my hope is that these rich media panels may provide a glimpse of what’s to come. If you have already visited Arizona, may they be a happy reminder of your time here. As always, thank you for picking up Arizona Key Magazine and welcome to Arizona. Thomas J. Ruberto
