Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum

Arizona’s Own Combat Aviation Museum

Ready to take a step back in time and see what it was really like to be part of the United States Air Force in the 1930s and 40s? Visit the Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum (AZCAF) and discover a rare, multi-sensory experience like no other. At the only combat aviation museum in Phoenix, you’ll take an edu-venture through history and climb aboard World War II airplanes. You don’t just get to walk inside a one-of-a-kind collection of warbirds, you can fly in one too!

The museum is a top-rated Trip Advisor Phoenix attraction with 55,000 square feet of airplanes, relics, educational exhibits, and a working mechanics hangar. It stands apart from other flying museums because it encourages the public to get up close and personal with history. You can watch skilled mechanics change out engines and join them on the hangar ramp to experience the excitement of propeller engines grumbling to life in a billow of smoke.

The Museum’s mission is to restore and preserve airplanes that have served throughout combat aviation history and to educate others about the sacrifices of our veterans. Knowledgeable docents are available to guide you through the educational exhibits or guests may explore unguided. Almost all the members have a connection with war history and if you’re lucky, you may brush shoulders with a former WWII Bomber pilot, Tuskegee Airman, or WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilots).
