You can enjoy the river and mountains without even leaving your site. The campground is modern with many amenities and there’s a small store with basic supplies when you need something. It’s not as rugged as the camping you’ll find at many Arizona state parks. It’s also a great destination for snowbirds, with moderate temperatures year-round.

There aren’t many great places in the state of Arizona for water lovers, but Buckskin Mountain State Park offers some of the desert state’s best water fun. There’s a white sand beach along the edge of the river, which flows along gently with clear, blue-green water. The hundreds of miles of shoreline here have earned it the nickname “Arizona’s West Coast.” There’s swimming, boating, jet skiing, fishing and more.

Buckskin Mountain State Park is a desert oasis where you can enjoy fun in the sun and your favorite water activities. It’s conveniently located at the mid-point between Phoenix and Las Vegas, so it’s a great place to meet or stop off on your way.

In addition to the river, there area has unique wildlife and plant life. You can experience the beauty of desert flora at its renowned Cactus Garden. There are rugged natural trails like Interruption Point, whose panoramic view of the park is well worth the hike.

But what’s really nice about Buckskin Mountain State Park is that you can enjoy all that it has to offer, the spectacular views and unique climate of the desert, without getting too rugged. Its campground and cabana sites have modern restrooms and showers, a boat ramp, a picnic area, basketball and volleyball courts, a playground for the kids, a restaurant, an arcade, and a gas station. There are events like ice cream socials and campfires. There is plenty of fun to be had for the whole family here.
