During the winter months Flagstaff is known for its many snow-related activities and is even ranked as one of the snowiest cities in America. But as you may expect from an Arizona destination, Flagstaff also is ranked in the sunniest cities as well as sunniest places during winter . This mix of fresh powder and clear skies makes for many a bluebird day in Flagstaff, Arizona’s winter wonderland.

With terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all experience levels, anyone can enjoy a day on the mountain. Snowbowl’s newest runs are now accessible via the recently installed Humphreys Peak Quad which compliments improvements to longtime favorite trails across the mountain.

Other Flagstaff winter favorites include the holiday lights display at Little America Hotel and holiday tours at Riordan Mansion State Historic Park. Through December tour the beautifully decorated home of the Riordans before meandering through millions of twinkling lights on the grounds at Little America.

Starting November 20 catch a trolley to the North Pole Experience from Little America. You and the family will be transported through the portal to the Santa’s workshop at North Pole where you can build toys with elves, enjoy cookies in Mrs. Claus’ kitchen, learn in Elf University and meet Santa.

From snowbiking and cross-country skiing at the Flagstaff Nordic Center, sledding at Wing Mountain or simply enjoying events such as the 12 Pubs of Christmas or Great Pinecone Drop, Flagstaff is truly your winter wonderland.
