We kick off our list with special Veterans Day Events at Arizona State Parks. Create your adventure in an Arizona State Park where you’ll find 1,400 campsites and 81 trails with 124 miles of hiking for the whole family. Parks are an economical opportunity to get outdoors and create memories with your loved ones. Fort Verde State Historic Park (CAMP VERDE) Veterans Day Memorial Service – Bring your flags to be retired and take a moment to pay tribute to those who gave their lives serving our country and for those who continue to serve.

Lake Havasu State Park (LAKE HAVASU CITY) Veteran’s Day Parade – Come to the parade on McCullough Blvd in the Downtown District and honor our local veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

Yuma Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park (YUMA) Veteran’s Day Parade – Join our community as we stop and take time to honor and celebrate the service of all US Military members. Parade begins at 9 am at the Yuma Mesa Shopping Center and heads south down 4th Avenue.

Veterans Day Parades Events in Phoenix & Across Arizona

Veterans Day Celebration (COTTONWOOD) On Monday, November 9 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., attend a Veterans Day Celebration at The Susan J. Rheem Adult Day Center in Cottonwood. Show support of the Armed Forces. In attendance will be the Color Guard, Mayor Diane Joens, Dr. Eduard Uzumeckis and Ann Wilford, RN and Ruby Rideout from the Veterans Administration. Join for a delicious brunch as SJRC salutes American’s heroes! The celebration is located at 636 N. Main Street in Cottonwood. Please RSVP by calling (928) 649-0788.

Celebrate the Marines and have Birthday Cake! (SCOTTSDALE) The public is invited to a unique Marine Corps tradition Tuesday, Nov. 10 – the 240th anniversary of the service’s founding. At 4:30 p.m. at the Marine Corps Mural, located just north of Scottsdale’s Civic Center Library, a birthday cake will be cut and shared as part of a ritual dating back to the Corps’ founding in 1775. The birthday cake is cut with a Marine officer’s Mameluke sword, as a reminder that the Marines are a band of warriors, committed to carrying the sword, so that our nation may live in peace.

Veterans Day (SCOTTSDALE) Come celebrate and honor our country and the people who serve it. This memorial will include dignitaries, guest speakers and live performances. Active duty Arizona Marine Cpl. Scott Roguska will be the keynote speaker at the city’s 2015 Veterans Day Commemoration. In addition to Roguska, the Veterans Day program will feature Scottsdale historian and former Marine Len Marcisz, who will talk about local military history. The 108th Army National Guard Band kicks off the program at 3 p.m. with a half-hour of patriotic music. Refreshments are provided courtesy of Shamrock Foods Company and the Wildflower Bread Company. Local Veterans organizations host ceremony (SCOTTSDALE) Scottsdale’s Veterans organizations will host a ceremony at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Scottsdale City Hall, Chaplain Statue, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd. The keynote speaker will be Congressman David Schweikert. The program is free and open to the public. For details, contact the American Legion Post 44 in Scottsdale at 480-941-0130.

Homeland:  (PRESCOTT) Yavapai College would like to salute our Veterans by presenting Homeland at 3pm featuring their Women’s Chorale, Community Chorale and Symphonic Band. NOV 11 – Veterans and active duty military will receive free admission on Wednesday, November 11 (Veterans Day) at Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. Free admission includes entrance to the Cowboy Artists of America 50th anniversary exhibition, which features at least one artwork by each of the 77 artists who has ever been a member of the renowned CAA organization. Entertainment will be provided at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the theater by Ermal, an award-winning John Wayne impersonator, and Paula Erlene, who will provide musical entertainment.
